Ocean Beach
San Francisco Ocean Beach
Ocean Beach is a beach on the West coast of San Francisco, California, United States, bordering the Pacific Ocean. It is adjacent to Golden Gate Park, the Richmond District, and the Sunset District.
It is located on The Great Highway which is part of the famous 49 Mile Scenic Drive. The Great Highway runs alongside the beach, and the Cliff House and the site of the former Sutro Baths sit at the northern end. The beach is a part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, which is administered by the National Park Service. The SFO Ocean Beach is popular for surfers and participants in bonfire parties.
Ocean Beach, 3.5-mile stretch of white beach with few tourists and no high-rises. It's just you and the waves and the seabirds at Ocean Beach, on the westernmost border of San Francisco, adjacent to Golden Gate Park. Great for strolling and flying kites, but the water is frigid and the currents hazardous for all but the most experienced surfers.
