Creek Trail in Amicalola Falls
Creek Trail in Amicalola Falls State Park
Creek Trail is a
loop trail that starts from the Amicalola Falls State Park Visitor’s Center to
the Falls, and back again to visitor center. It Provides a nice walk from the
Visitor Center to the Reflection Pool at the base of the falls.
Creek Trail head
is very close to the Base of Falls parking area, and the reflection pond and
then begins to run parallel to Amicalola Creek, and ends in the parking area
opposite the Visitor’s Center. At the top of this trail, near the Base of Falls
parking area, Creek Trail runs along with Mountain Laurel Loop Trail, and
descends Amicalola Ridge. Officially Creek Trail becomes its own trail once one
hikes down a set of broken wooden stairs off of Mountain Laurel Loop Trail. We
have to be careful with the stairs, especially when it is wet.
Creek Trail is
just 0.6 miles moderate trail and marked with Blazed yellow. This scenic walk
leads from the Visitor Center to the Reflection Pool at the base of the falls.
Seasonal fishing is allowed in this small pool and the creek downstream
(fishing license required).
