Annan Perumal kovil is a beautiful Village located in Nagapattinam District,Tamil Nadu State, India 7 Kms in south east of Sirkazhi.

This Village is the one of the 108 Vaishnava Divya Desams and the Mangalasasanam is being performed by the Thirumangai Alwar. This village is having 4 veedhis around Kovil and Kulam. This Village is an assortment of tranquility, serenity, quietude and innocence.

This Temple located in Gateway to Thirunangur Village. The temple complex has a single prakaram (closed precincts of a temple) and a separate shrines for Perumal, Thayar, Garudan, Anjeneya and Kumudavalli Nachiar, the wife of Thirumangai Azwar.

Kumuthavalli Nachiyar was found on the banks of the pond and brought up by a vaishanvite who later was married to the Thirumangai Alwar. Annan Perumal is considered as elder to Thiruvinnagar i.e. Uppiliappan kovil and the Thirumalai. Any prarthanai to be performed to either of the two can be performed hear. In the mangalasasanam for Annan Perumal and Thirumalai  only Thirumangai Azwar used the word “Anna”. The name of the deity is also Annan perumal  is the speciality which now here you can find.

The Moolavar of this Divyadesam is Annan Perumal and also known as Narayanan and Kannan. He is giving his seva Nindra (Standing) Thirukkolam with Sridevi and Boodevi. He is Facing his thirumugha mandalam towards East direction. The Utsavar of this divyadesam is Srinivasan. Prathyaksham for Ekadesa Rudhirar and Swetha maharajan. Thayaar of this sthalam is Alarmel Mangai Naachiyar. The Utsavar is Padmavathi Thaayar. Also known as Poovar Thirumagal.

Significance of the temple :

Ø  This Divyadesam is known as "South Tirupathi". All the offering in due to the Thiru Venkadamudayan of Tirupathi can be offered here too.

Ø  This sthalam is the avathara sthalam of Kumudhavalli Naachiyaar (wife of Thirumangai Azwar).
Ø  Mangalasasanam - Thirumangai Azwar mangalasasanam Periya thirumozhi Nalam Patthu – Yezham Thirumozhi (1308-1317).

Ø  The temple Pushkarani is Swetha Pushkarani ( Thiru Vellakulam) and Vimanam is Swetha Vimaanam.
