This Temple located in Gateway to Thirunangur Village. The temple complex has a single prakaram (closed precincts of a temple) and a separate shrines for Perumal, Thayar, Garudan, Anjeneya and Kumudavalli Nachiar, the wife of Thirumangai Azwar.
Kumuthavalli Nachiyar was found on the banks of the pond and brought up by a vaishanvite who later was married to the Thirumangai Alwar. Annan Perumal is considered as elder to Thiruvinnagar i.e. Uppiliappan kovil and the Thirumalai. Any prarthanai to be performed to either of the two can be performed hear. In the mangalasasanam for Annan Perumal and Thirumalai only Thirumangai Azwar used the word “Anna”. The name of the deity is also Annan perumal is the speciality which now here you can find.
The Moolavar of this Divyadesam is Annan Perumal and also known as Narayanan and Kannan. He is giving his seva Nindra (Standing) Thirukkolam with Sridevi and Boodevi. He is Facing his thirumugha mandalam towards East direction. The Utsavar of this divyadesam is Srinivasan. Prathyaksham for Ekadesa Rudhirar and Swetha maharajan. Thayaar of this sthalam is Alarmel Mangai Naachiyar. The Utsavar is Padmavathi Thaayar. Also known as Poovar Thirumagal.
