Nannilam - Madhuvaneshwarar Temple
Nannilam is a panchayat town in Thiruvarur District in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the headquarters town for Nannilam Taluk. Nannilam is located 32 km west of Karaikal and 30 km east of Kumbakonam. Madhuvaneshwarar Temple, is an old Shiva temple praised by Saint Sundarar in his Thevaram hymns which is located center of the town. It is 71st Temple on the southern bank of Cauvery praised in Thevaram hymns.

This is a madakkovil built at an elevation by Kochenkan Cholan, who has built 78 other temples of this nature. It is considered to be the 71st in the series of Tevara Stalams in the Chola kingdom located south of the river Kaveri. This temple is also known as Madhuvanam, and Shiva is also known as Prakaasa Nayakar.
