The Mahalakshmi Hindu Temple is the hub of the Indian community in Delaware. Located on Yorklyn Road, Hockessin in a sprawling lot, the temple is a beacon for many Indians in Delaware & neighboring Pennsylvannia.

Mission : The Hindu temple Association of Hockessin, is a non-profit association that caters to the religious, cultural and educational needs of a growing population of Indian families (6000+) in the tri-state area. The Hindu temple , Hockessin, Delaware is able to achieve this, thanks to an able board of trustees comprising people of various walks of life and profession and due to the countless hours put in by dedicated volunteers, staff priests and many others.

The main deity is Goddess Mahalakshmi, the Goddess of wealth and prosperity. Besides Goddess Mahalaksmi, the other deities at the Delaware Hindu Temple include Venkateswara (Balaji), Ganesh, Radha Krishna, Rama, Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman.  Delaware Hindu Temple offers priest services for Namakaranam, Satyanarayana Puja, Housewarming, Weddings and other Indian ceremonies.

A total solar eclipse occurs when the moon's apparent diameter is larger than the sun's, blocking all direct sunlight, turning day into darkness. Totality occurs in a narrow path across Earth's surface, with the partial solar eclipse visible over a surrounding region thousands of kilometres wide.

Total Solar Eclipse :  On Monday, August 21, 2017, all of North America will be treated to an eclipse of the sun. Anyone within the path of totality can see one of nature’s most awe-inspiring sights - a total solar eclipse. This path, where the moon will completely cover the sun and the sun's tenuous atmosphere - the corona - can be seen, will stretch from Lincoln Beach, Oregon to Charleston, South Carolina.

Great American Eclipse :  On Monday, August 21, 2017, a total solar eclipse, frequently referred to as the "Great American Eclipse", is visible within a band across the entire contiguous United States passing from the Pacific to the Atlantic coast. In other countries it will only be visible as a partial eclipse. I was lucky to see the Total solar Eclipse from Beaverton, Oregon. It was not 100% almost 95% total eclipse we are able to view from Beaverton.

The Swaminarayan Akshardham in Robbinsville, New Jersey, U.S. is a spiritual-cultural complex. The mandir, one component of the complex, was inaugurated and opened to the public on 10 August 2014 as the world's largest Hindu temple. Plans for the complex include the Swaminarayan Akshardham Mahamandir and a visitor’s center, which will house an exhibition on Indian history and culture. 

The BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Robbinsville in Central New Jersey is a Hindu place of worship built by the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha and consecrated by Pramukh Swami Maharaj. The BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, which is headed by Mahant Swami Maharaj, is a denomination of the Swaminarayan branch of Hinduism. The mandir is built of hand-carved Italian carrara marble, Turkish limestone and Indian pink stone. 

The mandir was built in the Nagaradi style using 68,000 cubic feet of Italian Carrara marble. The mandir was constructed according to guidelines outlined in ancient Vedas, or Hindu scriptures. In addition to the mandir, the complex includes a congregation hall. The mandir is open daily to visitors and for worship.

The mandir is a type of ‘Shikarbaddha’ mandir, built according to principles laid out in the Shilpa Shastras, Hindu texts prescribing standards of sacred architecture.[6] Within the mandir, murtis (sacred images of the deities) have been ritually installed. The central shrine holds the murti of Swaminarayan, with Gunatitanand Swami to his left, together worshipped as Akshar-Purushottam Maharaj. Similarly, different shrines hold murtis of other Hindu deities such as Radha Krishna, Shiva Parvati, Sita Ram, Hanuman, Ganapati and the lineage of BAPS gurus who are Swaminarayan’s spiritual successors.

The others sanctums are of typical Tamil Nadu architecture. The temple is built on a 40 acre property with parking for over 300 cars, with access from Texas Road and Wooleytown Road in Morganville, and is one of the largest temples in the US.

Jain Center of South Florida (JCSF) is relatively small organization of Jain families gathered for Jain religious and social activities.

JCSF main aim is to, provide place of worship for Jain followers, learn and promote Jainism. Support and promote Jain principles of Ahimsa, Apatigraha, Anekant and also to enrich our future generation to learn and value their spiritual Heritage.

Bhumi Pujan was performed in1998. Due to various zoning laws revisions, we were denied permit to build the Jain temple. Our dream continued, Jain center kept the faith in their abilities and finally in late 2005, JCSF bought the around 4000 sq. feet of commercial office space in the newly built beautiful city called WESTON, with high visibility and easy access from interstate highways which serve well for our neighboring area like Naples, Ft.
