 The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk & Promenade, located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, officially opened in May 2010 at a cost of nearly $6.4 million and runs 1.2 miles (1.9 km) along the oceanfront from the Pier 14 at 14th Avenue North to the 2nd Avenue Pier at 2nd Avenue North. National Geographic has ranked Myrtle Beach Boardwalk number three in the United States, while Travel and Leisure ranked the boardwalk number two. 

Throughout the summer, the popular Myrtle Beach Boardwalk is home to festivals and events, including Ocean Boulevard's Hot Summer Nights located at Plyler Park in the heart of the downtown area. Always a family favorite, the boardwalk provides oceanfront views of the pristine beach line, numerous shops and restaurants along its path, and is divided into three different sections:

Ø  The northernmost portion winds down from the 14th Avenue North Pier to Plyler Park.

Ø  The mid-section is located from Plyler Park to the former Pavilion Amusement Park site at 8th Avenue North and encompasses more of a carnival-like atmosphere with oceanfront dining and businesses.

Ø  The southernmost end of the boardwalk leading up to the 2nd Avenue pier has a meandering oceanfront park.

ü  Travel and Leisure magazine, featured today on the Today Show on NBC, named the new Myrtle Beach boardwalk among the best in the U.S.

ü  The Boardwalk, a 1.2-mile span running between the ocean and a myriad downtown Myrtle Beach hotels, restaurants and attractions, opened in May.

ü  Travel and Leisure magazine chose the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade for its mix of leisure and entertainment. The boardwalk came in second on the list of 11 top boardwalks.

The Alligator Adventure zoological park is a must see family attraction in North Myrtle Beach near Barefoot Landing Shopping Center. Alligator Adventure park protects the two endangered species in the world, which is Galapagos giant tortoise and Aldabra giant Tortoise.

The Galapagos tortoise or Galápagos giant tortoise (Chelonoidis nigra) is the largest living species of tortoise. Modern Galápagos tortoises can weigh up to 417 kg (919 lb). Today, giant tortoises exist only on two remote archipelagos: the Galápagos 1000 km due west of Ecuador, and Aldabra in the Indian Ocean, 700 km east of Tanzania.

The tortoise is native to seven of the Galapagos Islands, a volcanic archipelago about 1,000 km (620 mi) west of the Ecuadorian mainland. With lifespans in the wild of over 100 years, it is one of the longest-lived vertebrates. A captive individual lived at least 170 years. Spanish explorers, who discovered the islands in the 16th century, named them after the Spanish galápago, meaning tortoise.

The Aldabra giant tortoise (Aldabrachelys gigantea), from the islands of the Aldabra Atoll in the Seychelles, is one of the largest tortoises in the world. These are one of the largest land tortoises although the Galapagos tortoise may be larger.

Alligator Adventure - Reptile Capital of the World!

Alligator Adventure - Wild Life of the Wet Lands, Located adjacent to Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach, one of South Carolina's most outstanding attractions.

Located adjacent to the popular Barefoot Landing shopping, dining and entertainment complex, this 15-acre park features hundreds of species of reptiles as well as other exotic animals, such as birds, cats and lower primates. Of course, alligators are the main attraction and Alligator Adventure has hundreds on site. Enjoy feeding shows as handlers coax these prehistoric beasts out of the water and onto dry land to claim a free chicken dinner.

Alligator Adventure also holds live gator-handling shows so visitors can see these fascinating gators in action. This collection of gators and crocodiles in their natural environment is a sight to see on a sunny day, when hundreds of these apex predators sunbath on the shore of the natural lake that runs through the park property. Ten-footers, 15-footers and even a 20-foot croc named Utan roam the grounds and waters as if in the wild. Alligator Adventure is famous for its rare collection of other reptiles, including the Snake House that displays deadly venomous snakes from around the world and species that are native to the Carolinas.

Saints Peter and Paul Church

San Francisco Saints Peter and Paul Church

Saints Peter and Paul Church is a Roman Catholic Church in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood.

Saints Peter is located at 666 Filbert Street, it is directly across from Washington Square, San Francisco and is administered by the Salesians of Don Bosco. It is known as La cattedrale italiana dell'Ovest, or The Italian Cathedral of the West, and has served as the home church and cultural center for San Francisco's Italian-American community since its consecration.

Saints Peter and Paul Church was originally located at the intersection of Filbert Street and Grant Avenue. Built in 1884, the church was destroyed by the 1906 earthquake and fire. A second smaller edifice was built at the site. Construction of the current house of worship began in 1913 and was finished in 1924.

Soaring 191 feet above the ground, the iconic twin spires dominate the North Beach skyline. The church has several statues, mosaics and other religious icons. The opulent 14-foot rose window depicts a verse from the Book of Revelation. Christ stands before the throne of God as a lamb surrounded by 12 angels that represent the tribes of Israel and the apostles.

How To Reach : St Peter Cathedral is located just opposite to Washington Square Park and is very close to Coit Tower.
