Brooklyn Bridge

The Brooklyn Bridge is a bridge in New York City and is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Completed in 1883, it connects the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn by spanning the East River. It has a main span of 1,595.5 feet (486.3 m), and was the first steel-wire suspension bridge constructed.

The Brooklyn Bridge connects two great New York City boroughs: Manhattan and Brooklyn. We can walk it, drive it, bike it, or just admire it. One way or the other, the Brooklyn Bridge soaring over the East River is one of New York City’s most famous routes, both for tourists and born-and-bred New Yorkers.

It was designated a USA National Historic Landmark in 1964 and a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark in 1972.

There's a dedicated pedestrian walkway on the Brooklyn Bridge, above the roaring car traffic, so it's a wonderful stroll.

The bridge’s construction took around 14 years, involved 600 workers and cost $15 million (more than $320 million in today’s dollars). Now more than 125 years old, this iconic feature of the New York City skyline still carries roughly 150,000 vehicles and pedestrians every day.

Roosevelt Island

Roosevelt Island is a narrow island in New York City's East River. It lies between the island of Manhattan to its west and the borough of Queens to its east, and is part of the borough of Manhattan. Running from Manhattan's East 46th to East 85th Streets, it is about 2 miles (3.2 km) long, and a total area of 147 acres.

Roosevelt Island is located directly under the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge, it is not directly accessible from the bridge itself. In 1976, the Roosevelt Island Tramway was constructed to provide access to Midtown Manhattan.

Roosevelt Island Aerial Tramway is worth to view the Manhattan, the river and Roosevelt island We don't want to take extra ticket if we already have the metro weekly card. One of the best way to see the Manhattan Skyline.
