Silver Cascade Falls

Silver Cascade Falls is the first attraction that welcomes the tourists to Kodaikanal on the Madurai - Kodai road, situated on the main Ghat road. Silver Cascade Falls is 8 kms before Kodaikanal as you approach Kodai from Kodai Road. Silver Cascade Falls, a picture perfect spot to explore in Kodaikanal was famous for its clean, pure and glittering water once and resulting in the name Silver Falls. The spillover of Kodaikanal Lake takes a 180 feet dive over a vertical cliff, to sprint into a pool adjacent to the Ghat Road. The excess water from the Kodai Lake flows downward as a fall at about 8 kms from Kodaikanal. This waterfall is pleasing and stimulating during the monsoon when the water is in full flow. There are few shops selling fruits and other forest products making this point a pit stop for travelers and tourists crossing this road.

The 9/11 Survivor Tree :  The tree was named “Survivor Tree” after it lived through the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center. Now the tree was becoming a symbol for hope and renewal.
Survivor Tree
The Survivor Tree is "a key element of the memorial plaza's landscape." The tree is a callery pear tree. It was recovered from the rubble at the World Trade Center site in October 2001, long after recovery workers expected to find anything alive at the site. At the time of its recovery it was 8 feet tall, badly burned, and it had only one living branch. Prior to the attacks, the tree had lived at the World Trade Center site for several decades. It was originally planted in the 1970s in the area near buildings four and five, close to Church Street.

Paschima Kasi Sri Vishwanatha Temple

Paschima Kashi Temple - Flint , Michigan

Paschima Kasi (Kasi of the West) as it is known is the spirit of Banaras in Flint, Michigan. Paschima Kasi Sri Vishwanatha Temple is located on 10 acres in a serene setting with an adjacent lake and stream – the Holy Ganges. The Midwest cumulus clouds as the snowcapped Himalayas and the Shakti of this sacred Kshetra (Place) all magically transport you to Shiva’s City of Light, Kasi. This is the first Agamic Shiva Temple in the United States.

The Paschima Kasi Sri Vishwanatha Temple celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2007. The temple exhibits great Indian Culture and Temple Architecture. The interior of this temple is reminiscent of a typical South Indian Agamic temple, with traditional sanctums and large bronze bells.  Nearby the main sanctum stands an independent Study Hall with an elaborate library of all great scriptures for study and reference. The multi-purpose building with the study hall is a great asset to the community with facilities to host cultural programs like classical dance, music, theatre etc. The building is equipped with guest facilities, a large kitchen and an office.

Temple - Yaga Sala

About Temple History : With the divine grace and blessings of Lord Vishwanatha - The Paschima Kasi Sri Vishwanatha Temple is located on the banks of the Flint River in Flint, Michigan. Just as Lord Sri Vishwanatha at Kashi in Banaras is considered very auspicious to millions of devout Hindus; Kasi Sri Vishwanatha Temple in Flint, Michigan is considered the Kashi in the West. Special characteristics and similarities can be drawn between the Kashi Temple in Banaras and the Kashi Temple of the West in Flint, Michigan. One of the most striking characteristics that prompted a learned scholar to suggest this as Kasi of the West is – the river that flows by makes a 180 degree turn on the property, just as the river Ganges does a 180 degree turn at Kashi in Banaras, India. Numerous learned scholars and Pundits visited the site on October 22, 1982 to be part of the Prana Pratishtapana celebrations. Kasi West draws hundreds of devotees each week and several thousand on special occasions.
