Future of Flight Aviation Center and Boeing Tour
Seattle Boeing Tour is located in Mukilteo, Washington, 25
miles north of Seattle. Public tours of Boeing's Everett factory are available
seven days a week. The Everett, Wash., facility is home to the 747, 767, 777
and 787 Dreamliner production lines.
During the tour of the world's largest building by volume
(472,000,000 cubic feet or 13,385,378 cubic meters), visitors will see
airplanes being built for our worldwide base of airline customers.
The museum includes a 28,000-square-foot gallery containing
static and interactive exhibits and displays as well as a 240-seat theater, cafe and shops.
The Boeing Tour covers the Boeing Everett Factory, where we
can view airplanes in all stages of construction and testing. The factory is
the location for production of the Boeing 747, 767, 777, and 787. The tour also
includes the main assembly building, which holds the record in Guinness World
Records for the largest building in the world by volume. It is 472 million cu.
ft (13.3 million m³) and covers 98.3 acres (398,000 m²).
Exhibits at the Future of Flight Aviation
Center include:
Ø A comparison between the
Boeing 707 fuselage and the Boeing 787 fuselage.
Ø A genuine 727 cockpit in
which visitors can sit and operate switches and controls.
Ø Full-size GE90 777
engine and Rolls-Royce Trent 1,000 787 engine.
Ø Various full-size
airplanes suspended from the exhibit area ceiling.
Ø Displays of jet aircraft
components, including engines, landing gear, and sections of tail and fuselage
from several manufacturers.
Ø Videos and information
about flight decks in a variety of Boeing aircraft.
Ø Displays and videos on
the history of jet airplanes and the airlines that have used them.
Ø An area for visitors to
design and print their own airplane image.
Ø The How Planes are Made
Family Zone.
Ø A rooftop observation
deck, with views of the Boeing factory, Paine Field, and parked aircraft
outside.
